Open Position: Customer Support Technician Level 1, for our Fremont office

The Customer Support Technician, Level 1 works in collaboration with the Northern California Support Manager, other Avidex resources, manufactures, and customers to support and maintain audiovisual systems. A comprehensive background in audio, video and control systems and a good understanding of computers and networks is required to be successful. The Customer Support Technician will perform their work on-site and primarily work directly with our customer to support their AV systems and end users. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent Avidex Support by providing excellent customer service while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Basic diagnostic troubleshooting, testing, repair and adjustment to integrated audiovisual systems.
  • Remove, install, modify and repair audio video equipment.
  • Basic troubleshooting of control systems.
  • Provide detailed status (document in writing your findings and resolution) of system repairs.
  • Provide preventive maintenance.
  • Meet with applicable staff to review open tickets, customer and support history as required.
  • Obtain or research necessary repair and operation manuals or information needed to perform timely support for customers.
  • Attend department safety and coordination meetings as required.
  • Maintain proper safety equipment and practices in shop and on customer site.
  • Attend training classes as required by the needs of the Service Manager, Support Services Group and Customer.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum high school diploma, an Associates degree preferred.   
  • Minimum 3 years experience within the audio visual industry or education equivalent. 
  • Demonstration of excellent customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Willingness to learn, exceed customers expectations and an excellent work ethic.
  • Must have good computer skills including proficiency with the use of Windows and MS Office.
  • Must understand and demonstrate basic networking skills.
  • Must have basic understand of audio visual control systems.
  • Must have basic proficiency setting up audio and video conferencing systems.
  • Must have basic proficiency setting audio gain stages and adjusting common audio equipment.
  • Must have basic proficiency adjusting video display systems.
