Hayward City Hall
The Council Chambers at the City of Hayward asked Avidex for a complete upgrade of an aged analog and standard definition AV system. The Council Chambers serves an important role in the community as the primary forum for a variety of public and private meetings for the City Council, City Staff, City Boards and Commissions and outside agencies. It is essential that meeting presenters have the best available audio and video tools to communicate effectively, and that the audience/attendees have the best possible audio visual experience and can also participate effectively in the proceedings.
The main objective of this project is to improve the overall audio and video quality of the system by upgrading the camera and presentation systems from aged and mostly analog standard definition equipment to high definition digital video and audio.
Avidex upgraded the video systems including cameras, video mixers, video distribution, document cameras, video recording, monitoring, and broadcasting. The video system was upgraded from standard definition to high definition. Crestron digital media switching is the backbone of the system with Panasonic hi-definition cameras and controllers. The control room console features Data- video switching and character generation and new high definition Marshall monitors.
The audio systems, including microphones, amplification, audio programming/mixing, audio recording, and monitoring were replaced with audio digital signal processors and digital wireless mic systems. A Taiden conferencing system replaced the microphones at the Council dais. The dual rear screen projection system was replaced with a Prysm Custom 9W x 4H laser phosphor display video wall. The result: A more effective and efficient environment in which to deliver to the community
