Redmond City Hall
The City of Redmond asked Avidex to design the audio video component of the new Redmond City Council Chambers. This equipment would support the council members with presentation video and audio reinforcement within a unique architectural space. The end user wanted to keep the system as simple as possible for the users with minimal control by the city television channel crew.
Presentations to the council are shown on a large projection screen that drops out of the ceiling with a projector and speakers that are hidden in the architectural ceiling treatment. Presentations can be from the city council or city clerk laptops, from the presentation podium or from the city council work table. Each council member and the city clerk view a local LCD monitor to see any video presentation being shown to the audience on the projection screen. Each of the eight council positions and city clerk is equipped with a microphone, speaker, and mute switch for speaking and listening. The audio system is under automatic control of a DSP automixer that is set up to provide sound to each speaker position. The system is controlled by two wireless touch panels.
