Avidex is CMAS Certified
Avidex is proud to be a CMAS certified supplier of professional audiovisual solutions, assessment, design, and integration services. CMAS agreements are established with state-registered contractors like Avidex to sell information technology and non-information technology products and services to the State of California and local government agencies.
CMAS operates as a streamlined procurement option, offering competitively assessed and pre-negotiated products and services based on the Federal General Services Administration (GSA) multiple award schedule contracts. This means State agencies and local governments know they are paying a fair and reasonable price for our products and services. CMAS agreements comply with California procurement codes, guidelines, and policies, and provide the highest contractual protection.

How do I know I’m getting the best pricing available while remaining in procurement compliance?
CMAS agreements are established through a competitive bid process conducted by the State of California. Because of this, all pricing, products and/or services offered must have been previously bid and awarded on a Federal GSA schedule. The supplier completes a CMAS Application offering products and/or services at prices based on an existing Federal GSA multiple award schedule. This schedule is referred to as the “base” contract. Upon review and acceptance of the application, the CMAS Unit awards a CMAS agreement which includes the State of California contract terms and conditions, procurement codes, policies, and guidelines.
-
Who can use a master contract like CMAS?
All California State and local government agencies may use CMAS to procure audiovisual solutions and services from Avidex. A local government agency is any city, county, district, or other local governmental body, including the California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) systems, K-12 public schools, and community colleges empowered to expend public funds.
-
What are the steps to using CMAS?
- Define Order Requirements
- Obtain Contractor Agreements
- Review the CMAS Agreements
- Review the Quote
- Issue a PO to the CMAS Contractor
- Send Original Purchase Order to the CMAS Contractor and a Copy to the State General Services Office
- Payment by Agency to CMAS Contractor
Be sure to check our CMAS Buyers Guide for more detailed information on the CMAS procurement process.
-
Are There Order Limits?
While CMAS agreements have set maximum order limits for State agencies, these do NOT apply to local government agencies, which can establish their own procurement policies and procedures, and therefore set their own purchase order limits.
-
What about Administrative Fees?
For CMAS sales to State agencies, the State agency pays DGS an administrative fee. Effective July 1, 2019, for CMAS sales to local government agencies, the CMAS contractor pays DGS-CMAS a 1.25% incentive fee based on the total value of all local government orders each quarter unless they are California certified small business.
-
Does the CMAS program use the GSA authorized federal supply service schedule?
No, the CMAS Program does not “use” the GSA Authorized Federal Supply Service Schedule. Instead, the Department of General Services (DGS) establishes a totally independent California agreement for the same products and services at equal or lower prices. Once a CMAS is awarded, the Contractor markets and distributes the CMAS, and provides the CMAS Unit with quarterly reports of CMAS sales transactions.
