Supporting the Staff and Student Experience Through AV Technology at Plymouth State University
Project Overview
The University System of New Hampshire partnered with Avidex to implement audiovisual upgrades at Plymouth State University, including a Financial Data Analytics Lab in Hyde Hall and presentation system upgrades in Heritage Hall. These spaces support data-focused instruction, lectures, and campus events, including hybrid use cases.
Both environments incorporate standardized control, content distribution, and audio systems to support consistent operation across different room types and use scenarios.
In Hyde Hall, the Financial Data Analytics Lab includes a multi-display video wall system, integrated audio, and centralized control to support multi-source content display and classroom use.
In Heritage Hall, a digital AV presentation system includes a high-brightness projection system, distributed audio, wireless microphones, and centralized control. The system is configured to support multiple input locations, hybrid participation, and consistent operation.
Hyde Hall
In Hyde Hall, the Financial Data Analytics Lab includes a Samsung video wall, Crestron control system, and integrated audio with ceiling-mounted microphones to support multi-source content display and classroom use. Several other spaces, including classrooms and huddle spaces are also outfitted with audiovisual solutions. Each space is standardized to create a familiar user experience across the building.
Solutions For Every Space
The lab features a large-format Samsung video wall that can display multiple content sources at once, including real-time dashboards, applications, and presentation materials. Flexible layouts allow for several inputs to be viewed simultaneously.
A continuous RISE LED ticker wraps around the room to display live financial market data. Confidence monitors and ceiling-mounted beamforming microphones support instructional use, and the system includes fully integrated video conferencing.
Users can share content through both wired and wireless connections, including Crestron-connected HDMI inputs and wireless presentation gateways, enabling seamless device connectivity from multiple locations.

Integrated video conferencing capabilities enable HyFlex and hybrid workflows, allowing students to participate remotely while maintaining full engagement with in-room instruction. The system supports real-time collaboration, content sharing, and communication across departments and external stakeholders.
Confidence monitors and distributed audio ensure both in-room and remote participants experience clear, consistent communication, reinforcing an inclusive learning environment.

Huddle spaces were designed as small, purpose-built conference rooms that support quick collaboration, informal meetings, and hybrid teamwork. Each space gives employees an easy way to connect, share content, and meet with remote participants without needing to reserve a larger conference room. By standardizing the technology across rooms and supporting bring-your-own-device use, the installation helps create a consistent, familiar meeting experience while giving teams the flexibility to collaborate using the tools they already rely on.

Heritage Hall
Heritage Hall includes a high-brightness laser projection system and motorized screen for content display. A Crestron digital video switching system routes content from multiple input locations to the display system.
Wireless presentation is provided through a networked presentation gateway to support device connectivity without cabling. The audio system includes front-of-room speakers and distributed ceiling speakers for coverage, along with wireless microphone systems for presenters.
Audio processing is implemented using a Dante-enabled platform, supporting routing of microphone and program audio. An assistive listening system is included for accessibility.
A network-based Crestron control system with touch panels provides system operation, including power, source selection, audio levels, and screen control.

The Outcome
The completed systems provide audiovisual support for both data-focused instruction in Hyde Hall and multi-purpose use in Heritage Hall. Together, the spaces accommodate a range of instructional, presentation, and event formats, including in-room and hybrid use.
The Data Analytics Lab enables simultaneous display of multiple content sources, while Heritage Hall supports lectures, presentations, and events with projection, distributed audio, and multiple input locations.
Across both environments, the systems are configured for consistent operation, support for multiple use cases, and integration with existing campus infrastructure.
